NEWS

Dear Friends:

Welcome to the New York State OES Website!

We have been busy all winter and spring with many of our projects, visits and activities. The District Deputies and the Grand Lecturers have been making their official visits to each of the Chapters in their Districts. We have held many successful fundraisers in our Districts. And we have been able to help many of our members and those in our communities with our charitable projects.

The Grand Matron, Grand Patron and staff of Grand Officers have traveled many miles visiting each of the Districts to deliver their message and to meet the members and learn more about what the Chapters have been doing. At most of these visits, the Membership Committee has met with Chapter representatives to discuss what can be done to help them retain and increase membership and to let them know about the support programs we already have.

Spreading Cement of Friendship & Brotherly Love

On Saturday, July 7, 2007, M.W. JoAnne Dyer, Grand Matron, assisted M:.E:. John S. Jones, Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of the State of New York, Royal Arch Masons, at the rededication of the recently restored Saratoga Monument, a 155-foot obelisk commemorating the American victory in the Battles of Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War. This rededication recreated the original July 1912 dedication and included representatives of the same Masonic Concordant Bodies present during the Schuylerville Historical Week Celebration 95 years ago.

The New York State Eastern Star family gathered at our Home in Oriskany, New York for Pilgrimage Day 2007 on Saturday, July 28th. The sun came out and the skies cleared for a beautiful summer day. Everyone enjoyed shopping, visiting and eating the plentiful good food! We went home with all our purchases and memories, knowing the hard work of the week had resulted in a successful event!
